At the beginning of Winter I was reading about Miriam how she kinda had a power struggle with Moses in the desert-she challenged Moses authority (Numbers 12:2). "Miriam loved the Lord. Indeed that is what her name means. She just got her attitude wrong and this got her into trouble. God punished her and later restored her again." (some website lol). It reminded me of the conflicts I'd been having with Staff and I took it to mean that I was Miriam in that senario. So I apologised to them and tried to stay out of their hair but that's the quarter I fell back into depression and confusion about my identity and my voice. Later God showed me that Staff was actually like Miriam and Aaron in that scenario. People in the fellowship are growing up in the faith and learning their identity and finding their place in the body (post: A Generation Arising!) but Staff doesn't understand what's going on and see it as a power struggle (due to the structure that's currently in place). Anyway, God is preparing all of us to be deliverers but first God needs to deliver us from some stuff we may be unaware of and His multiethnic body is one of the designs He uses. We all have a staff in our hands (personal experience, cultural perspective and spiritual gifts) that's to be used to build up and equip the body of Christ. So here's my staff.

"As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground." (Exodus 14: 10-16)

This is the beginning of an email I sent to staff on 4/12/12:
"Hey :) So when Marissa called me (because I liked Jovanny's comment on the InterVarsity wall,"InterVarsity needs to be more bold and active in the community") she told me, "if you have something to say to us then say it." God has been telling me things to tell you staff but I haven't been obedient  because I knew it would hurt you and so I kept it from you even though that meant that I kept hurting and watching others hurt as well. But last quarter He showed me my insecurities and I finally re-learnt my identity in Him ("Winter Rains"). But this quarter there's something He told me that I hadn't changed, which is choosing to maintain fake peace with everyone especially those in authority (peace with men without peace with God -since I haven't been obeying Him- not saying the things He tells me to say). And I can't take this cycle anymore, I can't take fakeness anymore. It hurts me which I usually don't mind persevering  (but God told me He does mind) and it's really hurting the fellowship. I love you guys too much to settle for fake peace. So I must say these things, I tried to spare you this harsh truth but you chose it to be this way so let it be as you wished. (And no I didn't want to meet up to talk about this. There'd be too much emotion involved which will just distract you from the actual message. I'll either shout at you, cry or give you silence. I had opted for silence but this stuff must be said)...Anyway, as you read the next things please don't take personal offense, remember we are not fighting against flesh and blood but powers and principalities of this dark world so I'm calling out the devil and his schemes. Tone: My heart is broken for our fellowship and the devil's deceitfulness in this age :'( yet I'm filled with hope and joy for I know the end. God wins :)"

"False Jesus" Visions

So at prefall both Haley and Marissa had "false Jesus" visions.  Marissa's: She saw her friend Mariah from afar but when she went close to her it wasn't her, then she saw her again elsewhere but when she came closer it wasn't Mariah. Haley's: There was darkness all around then she saw a light and she thought it was Jesus but when she followed it and went she close by it wasn't Him, it was some demonic creature. She saw another light again, went closer to it and found out it wasn't Jesus again but an evil creature. (Feel free to correct me if I messed with any specifics) But the gist was that they followed what was familiar, what they thought was true but upon closer inspection it was not the Truth but a lie. And at prefall, God led me to share 1 John 4: 1-6 as the interpretation of the visions which also revealed to me the lateness of this hour (Jesus is coming back soon!!!). And I told everyone that we can't trust anyone, only God, not even the staff we respect and look up to, but we need to test everything we hear with God's Word (post: Trust No One but God). Also I remember when we were doing listening prayer, Diane was paired up with Haley and the word Diane got for her was "Eat the Word." Dear friends, there are 2 kingdoms in operation on earth (the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of the world) and 2 spirits (the Spirit of God/the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of the world/ the spirit of falsehood) and we can either walk by faith (be Spirit-led) or walk by sight like the world does (conforming to the world and being deceived). To know the difference we have to be in the Word (use it as the standard) and be Spirit-led. If you don't use God's Word as the standard (what God says is true) then your own personal and cultural experience (what you think is true or what others have taught you is true) will be your standard and chances are that you will be deceived since the kingdom of this world is heavily influenced by the devil's lies and schemes. So a False Jesus is basically [Jesus-inthebox] : taking in parts of His identity as true while excluding other parts/ downplaying them/ replacing them with other parts that are not of Him. Some cultural backgrounds can really influence the creation of a False Jesus e.g. Western Culture. So The Real Jesus is His Full identity as He has revealed Himself through His Word. Not just the parts we like about Him.

♫ I don't know what you heard, hope it matches with The Word.
I don't know what you think, homie time to get it straight.

   False Teachers!

"People say that they love truth in reality they want to believe that which they love is true."
-Ringer, Robert J.
"In answer to your inquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be Religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell."
- William Booth, founder of Salvation Army.

InterVarsity, here's the heart-breaking truth. Our beloved staff are being false teachers. Yes I was also shocked when I found out and I know it's really hard news for them to come to terms with. They don't do this intentionally obviously but it's due to generational blindspots and God wants to correct it for their good and that of the whole fellowship. He is refining us! :)

This is really harsh Truth but keep in mind that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, God is the Perfect Father: "The LORD has disciplined me severely, but he has not given me over to death." (Psalm 118:18) "When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world." (1 Corinthians 11:32) "I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with the rod of men, with floggings inflicted by men. But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. (2 Samuel 7:14-15)

So our Staff is walking by sight and not by faith. They do this by making decisions based off their cultural experiences and the old way of doing things (what they have been taught) instead of God's Word and the new move of His Spirit and by rejecting the Truth that God speaks to them through the prophets (people who speak the truth they know by experience or what the Spirit reveals to them) in the fellowship- such as Shayne and Judith. Want examples?

I brought up the markers in the Colors of the Wind post when I was talking about Cultural racism so you can go there for background/description.
MarkersFalse Teachers/shepherds/prophets in the Americanized ChurchWord from God
 1. Cultural Racism ex. "Having future time orientation".Our staff is busy worrying about the future of the fellowship and completely disregarding what God was saying we should do in the present (Paul at common ground: "The future of the fellowship is in your hands"- trying to get people sign up for leaders training. And Melissa telling people to pray because of her fear that "a certain someone"- that they kicked out of fellowship, namely, Josh, that he would jeopardize the existence of the fellowship). While God had already shown us the future of the fellowship through multiple visions they choose to be moved by fear of the future which only leads to further oppression. *Stop & Wait!  (Acts1)

*Matthew 6:33-34

2."Emphasizing individualism  as opposed to a more collective ideology"

*Tendency of analytical thinkers
*Gesellschaft
*Individualistic cultures.
The solution God showed me through His Word is Acts1-2 and 1 Samuel 7 which entails everyone coming together. But they thought it would be a better idea to just pass on the message to people to resolve their conflicts and pray at their own convenience. Why go through the hassle of meeting up to obey God's Word? And if a few people are suffering which has lead to their isolation from the fellowship who cares? As long as the majority of the crowd is happy right? And out of sight, out of mind; that's the depth of our connection right? And while they kick out the sick (Josh) we pray for God to add to our numbers.
*Gesellschaft=" means 'association' or 'society'. More characteristic of modern Western societies, treat relationships as imaginary, instrumental, and means to ends. The primary focus is on autonomous individuals who are bound to one another through social convention. Relations in these groups tend to be perceived as relatively impersonal and somewhat contractual. (Cultural Psych by Heine) (Contrast this with "Gemeinschaft"- which means community)
Ezekiel 34 (Woe to you shepherds!)

2 Chronicles 15
3. They teach out of ignorance thereby spreading lies, instead of humbling themselves and letting others in the fellowship lead them to learn the solution.

*High NCC marker.
*They do this due to NCC = Need of cognitive closure= "A desire to have a definite answer to a question. For people high in NCC, it doesn't matter so much what answer people receive, just so long as they have an answer; any firm answer is preferred to uncertainity" (Cultural Psych by Heine)
*Melissa is high in NCC and I have heard her spread multiple lies when dealing with spiritual stuff she doesn't know about- e.g what happened at prefall
 a)"This doesn't mean that this will be our
new normal"- while that was exactly what God wanted to create. The very definition of revival.
b)"Hell is just a place without God's presence. If people are living without God on earth then hell can't be that bad."Does a fiery lake of burning sulphur sound "not that bad"??? (Revelation 21:8)
c) Addressing prefall at an all leaders meeting: "I don't know but (here comes the lie) everyone is from different backgrounds and they worship God differently. Some churches focus on teaching the Word which is fine. Some focus on the Holy Spirit which is fine." Then she recommended a book that justifies this. This is how "the false Jesus" gets constructed and is against the very purpose of racial reconciliation: to worship Jesus in His Full identity.
Isaiah 30
Ezekiel 22:28
Ezekiel 13
4. Run by a meritocractic heirarchy (those at the top of the ladder call all the shots and do things their way and go unchecked)*God gave me a prophetic song for the fellowship based on Psalm 24 and staff was okay with me leading it then they changed their minds right at common ground since Paul thought that writing down our sins and posting them on paper cross on the wall was a better idea than letting The King of Glory step in and give us rest Himself.
*They also cancelled the Black Church Experience we were meant to have in Winter last minute coz Paul did not want me to lead it/speak since he didn't trust me (he wanted to train me first in how they do things in InterVarsity- how they look at all the speaker's notes and tailor them message to fit the student audience, how they practice and work on their hand gestures. Look up "impression management" & listen to Colors of the Wind.) Each time God gave me a Word they didn't like they refused me to share it with you guys. At the beginning of Winter, I was led to tell you guys what God told me how we are leaders by identity not by prescription (and what that means since God is waking us up to operate as a body)and also the interpretation of the False Jesus visions but Staff refused me to talk to the leaders at their leaders meeting for 5 minutes.
*We are the body of Christ (not a meritocratic hierachical structure) and we are all equal under one head, Christ Himself. No one has monopoly on the Holy Spirit and God speaks through all the different parts of the body so let us
all humble ourselves before the Lord and His design- He is the head and we are His body. God says, "My house shall be called a House of prayer of all nations."- This is not your mama's house to run it how she taught you!!! But have the same Father though so let's listen to Him and obey His Word.
1 Corinthians 12

Matthew 21:13

Isaiah 63:7-10
5. They say there's peace and safety when there's no peace and plan for a future they have no vision of.

*Gospel of prosperity.
*Half truths & lies.
*Whitewashing.
 InterVarsity, your Staff has not prepared you for what's coming this year even after God gave me the interpretations to the visions and dreams He gave them, they just ignored me and carried on with their plans."As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than other living men, but so that you, O king, may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind." (Daniel 2: 30) God also led me to the video clip below concerning the staff and other false prophets in America, because of their stubbornness and pride (not painting with all the colors of the wind hence not accepting and loving everyone) which is keeping people from seeing the whole Truth God will shake this nation to wake us up. *Ezekiel 13*
(Woe to the foolish prophets!)

Isaiah 30.
Isaiah 63:7-19 Isaiah 64.
6. Foolish Virgins.

*Cultural Pride.
*Independence.
*Control Freak issues.
They are being like the Pharisees. Unknowingly rejecting the Kingdom of Heaven- righteousness, peace & joy in the Holy Spirit & preventing others from entering in. Check out the FALSE Apostles post.Matthew 25:1-13

 Psalm 127:1-2 and Mark 2:22, Hosea 4:6, Isaiah 56:7

""The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" (Matthew 6:22-23) *The world (the devil's schemes through different aspects of our culture) has messed up our vision so we need to help each other see the Truth. Let's base everything on The Word. "See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness." (Luke 11:35)

Email I sent Staff (4/12/12): "I know just telling you guys stuff is harsh and you probably still don't get me; so let me show you the solution since you don't get it, let me lead you for a night. This is the solution: (1 Samuel 7) and I only want to do God's will. This is not about us. It's all about Him and His kingdom. *This is urgent. Something is coming, something big is coming and if you keep postponing responding to God's message (I didn't make this stuff up) you are actually hurting the fellowship. The very people you are trying to shelter are the ones who will be at highest risk to fall away when stuff goes down this year (Ezekiel 13). That's why we need to prepare them spiritually for that stuff (Ephesians 4: 11-16.) You guys aren't the only shepherds in the fellowship (the body) and Jesus is the head and the Chief shepherd so let's follow Him). We need our lamps to be full of oil ( baptized with the Holy Spirit) to be prepared for the season we are quickly going into. If you want to meet up with me we can and I'll just repeat all this stuff again and come to the same conclusion: 1 Samuel 7. But if you want to meet up so that you can understand what I'm saying before you can let it happen there's no point for that. That's what we've been trying to do all year and it doesn't work (2 Corinthians 10:4) so if you want to understand then let me show it to you and you'll finally understand. So yeah right now the ball is in your court and it's your move and know that the decisions you are making are affecting the whole fellowship. So don't trust yourself (your experience and those of your mentors) The only thing you can rely on is His Word and the Spirit. Please listen to me- I'm just sharing what He told me and it's for the good of the whole fellowship (including the lost sheep)- I'm not doing this for myself . And He has given me confirmation for all He tells me so I know I'm not crazy as you probably think I am. So seek Him about this stuff I've shared (Eccles. 5:1-2)...I pray He gives you humble hearts, eyes to see and ears to hear. God's grace is enough. K that's all I have to say to you. Love you guys. Even with a broken heart I will keep loving you."

Part of an email I sent to staff (4/12/12):
"This clip is concerning our interactions the past 2 quarters (especially you and I, Paul). You want racial reconciliation to happen yet you don't see how you have been standing in the way of that just by not trusting in God's plan (seeing the fellowship as a body.) I know you don't do this intentionally. It's a cultural stronghold, a generational blindspot and God uses people from different cultures (different point of view) to spot this out, call it out, and interceed. Which is what he's been telling me to do (interceed) for you guys coz you don't see what I see. *1 Samuel 7* And I was going to do this the African way (gentle) and what I was going to speak about was Love, the first commandment. But No! one night was too much to ask for.  I find it sad that you ask God for rest, revival, racial rec, yet you don't see how this actually happens and therefore reject it. So if you want these things, you have to let go (lose control) the Holy Spirit wants to give us rest.

Anyway, here is what you've asked for. I would have presented it in a gentle way if you guys were willing to displace yourself but since that hasn't yet happened then I'll do it your way (what you're asking for is not what you want. What you actually want is what you are rejecting). I love you guys. "for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame." (Songs of Songs 8:6) And I'm fighting for you even though to you it may seem like I'm an enemy. And I forgive you for all this stuff that you don't know you've been doing and I don't have any bitterness, only strong love. God's grace is enough for all of us. And the reason He told me to tell this stuff to you guys is because He loves you and wants to expose the devil's schemes so you can stop falling for them. "The Lord disciplines those He loves as a father the son he delights in." =) Also, I'm not going anywhere (I know who I am so I'm not running away this time). And I will keep loving you even though you don't get me. And I'll keep fighting for you and the fellowship even though it means appearing like the enemy."
A Call to Lamentation

Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn;
    wail, you who minister before the altar.
Come, spend the night in sackcloth,
    you who minister before my God;
for the grain offerings and drink offerings
    are withheld from the house of your God.
Declare a holy fast;
    call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
    and all who live in the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
    and cry out to the Lord.
Alas for that day!
    For the day of the Lord is near;
    it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
(Joel 1: 13-15)
"Lift up your heads, you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in." (Psalm 24:7)

say to the captives, 'Come out,' and to those in darkness, 'Be free!' Isaiah 49: 9
Everyone, God is really serious about Love and Justice (Loving Him and loving each other).
  1. Let us pray for ourselves individually and ask Him to search our hearts and as we pray let us draw near to listen Eccles. 5:1-2. Let's take a break from routine, fast and get real with God. Let's get real about our brokenness and not try to cover it up. He wants to bring healing and restoration :) This year I was really dissatisfied with things so I was forced to stop and refocus. My relationship with God was really suffering since I was focused more on what I did for Him or with fellowship so I needed to break from routine to get things right, to put first things first. It was awkward at first, just being alone with God. He showed me the state of my heart which wasn't fun and I had to learn a lot of painful truths but it was rewarding! I remembered who I am in Him :) So yeah put your distractions and entertainment away and seek God first. Be in His Word and just worship Him. He really does satisfy! Find ways to delight yourself in Him (being who you are without excluding God and finding ways to acknowledge God in stuff you do. That's worship :) (Related posts: Remember, Just Be & Search Me (Jan. posts), The Present (Feb.) and Winter Rains and A Call to Fast (March).          (Hosea 10:12)
    "Sow righteousness for yourselves,
    reap the fruit of unfailing love,
    and break up your unplowed ground;
    for it is time to seek the LORD,
    until He comes
    and showers his righteousness on you."
  2. Reconcile = Let's all be friends and love each other (with definitions of love and friendship from the Word).  Let's all stop gossiping. If you have unresolved conflict with someone, I know it's summer but make effort to resolve it instead of waiting till school starts. Let's pray for each other and for the whole fellowship and fast together. Let's pray for Staff. Let us also confess our own contributions to the problems in the fellowship (including apathy, fear and inaction).
  3. We all need to come out of the system and follow God's model in His Word=  Staff, there are many strongholds in your culture that are working against you but all you have to do is to lift up your heads and let the King of Glory come in. He will fight your battles and set you free. We are not called to understand everything but to Trust and Obey. We have to understand that God is all-powerful and all-knowing and works things out for out good. I know things got really ugly this year but just confess and repent and reconcile. Everyone is sooo ready to be reconciled so let's do that so that we can put the past behind and move forward as a fellowship. This applies to Staff  as well as everyone else. Let's humble ourselves before God and apply the solutions God gives us in His Word for change to happen. And like I keep telling you guys, your spiritual gifts are really important especially at a time like this and you have to step up and start using them (whether or not you are on the leadership team) since their not yours to keep but they are to be shared with the body. If you don't know your gifts seek God about them. I talk about spiritual gifts in these post: "A Call for UNITY in the body of Christ" and "On Spiritual Gifts". But yeah God placed you in this fellowship for a reason and you have something that the rest of fellowship needs. We really need each other to survive so let's share our lives which includes using God's word, our experiences and our gifts and talents to edify the body. It's time to let The Lord be your shepherd! You are a leader by identity. Don't wait for Staff or anyone to give you permission to be yourself. God is the One who gave you your identity so wait on Him for direction and follow Him wherever He leads you! (Remember who you are then be yourself)  Be free! It's time to use your staff! :) Listen to the songs in this post: Free to Be!

Yeah, let's all REPENT! Let us return to Him with all our hearts and run to His mercy seat. His grace is sufficient! There are lots of idols in this land and some have crept into the church under different titles (I'll expose them in an upcoming post HATE the game). So let's just "lift up our heads and let the King of Glory come in" (Psalm 24). Let us just worship Him! When we fix our eyes on Jesus the things of the world fade away so let's chase after Him! He wants to give us rest :-)

_____________________________________________________________________
InterVarsity, everyone,  I know that was a lot of harsh truth to deal with all at once but it's about time we face it. But like I've told you, these fires are not to destroy us but to refine us, so let's just cooperate with God and follow His Word. God has a great plan for us! He makes beautiful things out of the dust. There's a bigger picture to what God is doing! Look out for the post REAL Identity. He'll make beautiful things out of us! ~ A time to break down and a time to build up ~ But yeah, break down first. Let your heart be broken for the things God's heart breaks for, not just for yourself but for staff and the entire fellowship.

"Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us
he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds." (Hosea 6:1)

It's time we start applying the things we have been learning. I'll be sharing a lot of practicals and more truths that have been overlooked coz it's about that time to change our ways (repent). Let's be free to share practicals, debunk any myths, rebuke and correct any lies, share prayer requests. We are the body of Christ, we are family. Let's be good friends to each other. Love Charlene :)

(*P.S: I'm just sharing with my friends what God tells me which He also confirms with Scripture. I'm not getting paid for this lol. It's all love and it's free. If you think I'm crazy and don't believe me about the stuff I'm sharing -the harsh truth and the urgency to apply this message- feel free to let me know coz God has given lots of really clear confirmation that that's the message He is speaking to different people in this season through His Spirit. So yeah let me know and I'll pass it on. Maybe you'll receive it better when it comes from someone else. But yeah just seek God about all this stuff and He'll give you confirmation :)

Related post: It's ALL about Jesus!  If you're still clueless don't worry, just pray and I have more to share so wait for it! (Don't fight me right now coz you really don't know what you're doing or what I'm doing so wait and I'll let you know. Be patient! Good things come to those who wait :)

"May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it." (1 Thessalonians 5: 23-24) =)

WATCH THIS FOR CONFIRMATION GOD LED ME TO FOR THIS MESSAGE.

Let's repent. Love, Charlene :-)
